Twenty years ago today I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!
I can't believe it has been that long!
I remember the day well,
my cousin and I share a birthday so we also shared our baptism day.
My Dad baptized me and then my uncle baptized my cousin.
I remember the water was warm,
but while waiting for my towel I felt like I was freezing...
my mom watched my cousin's baptism before coming in
(sorry Mom, it's part of the story).
My dad also confirmed me a member of the Church.
All of the people that came to my baptism signed their name in a Book of Mormon for me.
I remember that one of my uncles gave me a really pretty journal that he wrote "Happy Birthday" in.
He wrote it in the most beautiful calligraphy I've ever seen, that he totally free-handed.
As amazing as all these memories are,
the best part is that on that day I became a member of the Church.
My testimony has grown a lot since that day
and will always be growing.
I've had times of trial and struggle where I've had to rely on my testimony and trust in my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I would never trade those times for anything because they have helped me grow the most.
I am so grateful to my parents for teaching me about the gospel and the importance of baptism.
