Fourth of July!

I love the Fourth of July! In my hometown it's a big deal! It's always been that way. We're pretty cool, I mean come on we have a town water fight! It doesn't get much cooler than that! I am so grateful for the country that I live in. I think that's why I studied Political Science. I grew up listening to my Grandpa talking about how much he loved his country and he'd get tears in his eyes when he talked about it. The Fourth of July holds a special place in my family's heart, it's one of my dad's favorite holidays, and I think I could say that for everyone in my family. Maybe we're crazy, but I don't think so.I love the traditio

ns we have. And even though it's a million trillion degrees outside, I love Bunkerville's celebration of the 4th!

I thought I'd be able to let you see it larger, so I'll just add the pictures that I put in this thing underneath so you can see the picture that makes me laugh.

This one is of us after the watermelon eating contest and the egg toss (2009)... if you look closely you can see the aftermath of the egg toss (especially on Scott's shirt).

Visitors!

This weekend we had some visitors! We love having people come visit! We had a view surprise visitors as well, and that was great too! We went on a hike, had some great food, and had a fun time visiting together. We all went to church together and that was fun because we introduced our visitors and introduced ourselves for the third time as well, lol, we'd tell who our visitors are and some people would look at us like, "who are you?" so we'd introduce ourselves.

We saw a lot of windmills on the hike. This windmill is HUGE! (I pointed out the reference point)

In other news, we finished the nightstands! YAY! Don't they make our bed look great! And they help keep our room clean! Our moms would be so proud!

Hiking

So this weekend we decided we should get out and see what's around us. So we decided to go on a hike, some people we know said that it was nothing compared to Utah mountains... okay I don't know what mountains they were hiking but apparently I better never hike those because we were dying going up this... I mean it was so easy... right. It was really pretty though, so here are some pictures!

Happy Father's Day!...uhh next week

**So I posted this, then we called our fathers and left messages telling them happy fathers day! But when I talked to my mom a little while later, she informed me that Father's Day is next week... so I guess we're just a bit ahead... lol! When I talked to my dad he said it's better to be a week ahead than a week behind because then people think you don't love them. So we're just thinking of all the fathers we know and how much we respect them! lol! Don't you love it when you do silly things, but you can laugh at yourself or laugh at the situation! It's great! I love to laugh! It definitely makes life great! Which reminds me of one of my favorite talks, Come what may and love it... if you haven't read it, you should!


To all those fathers and future fathers, Happy Father's Day! We have wonderful fathers and love them very much! We are grateful for the things they've taught us and the memories we've made with them! We're grateful for their sacrifices for us! We truly have the best fathers!

We love projects and lately our(...mostly his, but on Saturday I helped as well.) projects have been nightstands for next to our bed.





Well, it's dinnertime and we don't like to miss meals so, I guess that's all for now!

Hello!

For a while now, I've thought about starting a blog for our family, but each day I talk myself out of it. One reason I could talk myself out of it is that I've been afraid I'd spend too much time on it, because I love to look at blogs! Especially craft blogs! Recently a friend of mine encouraged me to start a blog so she could keep up on our lives, so I discussed it with the husband and here we are.
Recently our family has undergone a few changes:
1. He graduated!
2. I quit my job!
3. We moved
4. We got a new car
5. He got a new job and started it at the beginning of this week
6. We went on an awesome vacation!
Lol, that last one makes it sound like we've never gone on an awesome vacation, which isn't true, but we've never been on a vacation like that one and it's a good possibility that we may never get a chance like that again! Also that's not quite the order that all of our changes happened either, but oh well.
Here are some pictures to prove some of these... actually I think I only have pictures of the trip. Anywho here we go:

At a cenote...basically underground fresh water. According to our tour guide, cenotes were used by the Mayans as a place for fresh drinking water and such, so what did we do it in? We swam in it!

Tulum, I think this was our favorite. It was so beautiful (notice next picture). But also it was really cool because our tour guide was also LDS, we knew because he was wearing a BYU hat. So we started talking to him and he said that he would give us a little more information after the tour was over. So basically he told us how he thought these ruins fit into the Book of Mormon. It was really neat! He told us (and the rest of the group) that Tulum was built in about 150 BC, I believe it was, so like around the time of Abinadi. Anyways, it was really cool.

This is also Tulum, the structure behind us is a lookout tower and then the beautiful Caribbean Sea!

And finally, him sad to go. We went home the next day... well not quite home, we didn't have a home at the time. We'd moved out of our apartment, so we went and stayed with each of our families.

As you can see, our life has been eventful! Now I need to find a job...lamo, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a good job!
