Boo!

I was so excited to make Sweet Girl's Halloween costume this year!

I looked for a while for ideas, but then my sister sent me a suggestion on pinterest.

It was too cute not to do!

So she was Boo from Monster's Inc.

It was really easy to make, actually.

And really fun. I had a lot of the fabric already, but I needed some for the arms.

We found a fun fabric with shiny polka-dots on it that was perfect for arms!

The first time I tried it on Sweet Girl, it wasn't quite finished, but she was less than thrilled... 

 Thankfully, while I was figuring out how to attach the eyes she got really excited about it and kept trying to steal it.

Then when she wore it for real for the first time, she loved it!

I think it also helped that everyone commented on how cute she looked and Sweet Girl sure loves complements!... who doesn't?!

 She wore it to music time first. A couple ladies in our town do a music time each week, it is really fun! Sweet Girl loves it! She's so social! She loves to dance and especially to play with the instruments!

 That week, Aunt S and Baby A joined us! Sweet Girl's cute little cousin was Little Mermaid, just like her mommy was when she was little!

For the actual Halloween, Sweet Girl gladly wore her costume, but she wouldn't let me do her hair in the cute pig tails... you win some you lose some.

 My Sweet Husband joked with me and said that he would wear a Sulley costume if I went as Mike. He figured I wouldn't do it, I sure showed him.. lol!

Silly Goose

Our Sweet Girl is just a silly goose!

She keeps me laughing everyday!

Here are a few pictures to show you!

She can "inventory" a room in no time flat!

(We call it inventory because it's like she's making sure we have everything still, she does this with many things: rooms, diaper bags, etc)

 One day I asked her to smile, this is what she gave me.. lol!

 Another day we had fun taking selfies for awhile...

 Sweet Girl is pretty picky about what goes in and stays in her hair,

one day she kept handing me more and more pretties to put in her hair!

 I'm working a quilt for my little brother for Christmas

(don't worry, he won't know, he's on a mission for our church),

so I had been ironing A LOT!

Sweet Girl grabbed the squirt gun and took a drink.

It must be an instinct thing because I remember doing the same thing as a kid!

 When I checked on her to make sure she was sleeping once, this is what I found!

 I decided to mow the lawn one day. My plan was to do it while Sweet Girl took a nap,

but for some reason I decided to try it before. I think because I realized that I probably wouldn't have time to mow the lawn and take a shower before Sweet Girl woke up. So I strapped her into the Baby Bjorn and got to work. After a while she felt like dead weight... lol turns out, she fell asleep!

I tried it again a few weeks later, and sure enough, she fell asleep again!

 I decided to teach Sweet Girl how to play hide and seek.

I wasn't sure she quite understood, but later that day she walked away and this is where I found her!

Pretty good hiding spot! Now she plays and hides in there all the time, I think she likes it because it's just her size, there is a shelf right above the hanger bar. 

 She pulled out her bin of plastic kitchen things and decided to climb on in...

 then later did the same thing at her aunt's house with a diaper box! Lol!

 That same day she took a candy bar behind into the kitchen and came out looking like this!

 She insisted on the hat and the sunglasses once to swing, I guess she wanted to make sure she was extra protected!

 Every Monday is laundry day at our house,

I think she thinks it's pretty boring...

 but she is really good at entertaining herself! lol!

 It's not hard to tell where Sweet Girl has been...

usually her signs of inventorying give her right away!

 On a trip to our favorite fast food restaurant, Chick-fil-A, Sweet Girl insisted on holding her juice by herself! She did really well actually! The only time we spilled was when I gave it to her and it was my fault!

 She loves to steal my glasses and try to wear them...lol!

Phwew, if you made it this far, I am very impressed! We sure love our silly Goose!

Fabric Shopping

I have two siblings getting married in the next couple months.

For one of the weddings I'm supposed to wear a cream dress,

after looking online and in a few stores for a little bit I decided I'd rather just make a dress.

Plus, it's always fun to have a project 

(never mind the fact that at the time I already had two other projects going).

We were at my sweet in-laws' house for the weekend, 

so we decided to make a trip to the fashion district to look for fabric!

Plus, Sweet Girl and my Handsome Husband had never been!

My Sweet Mother-in-law kindly drove us there and spent the day with us!

If you've never been, it is pretty awesome! As you can see from the pictures they have rolls and rolls and rolls of fabric as far as you can see... pretty much anyways. I wanted to take a picture of one shop, they had rolls of fabric from floor to ceiling! It takes a little time to look at everything, but luckily each shop pretty much has a certain kind of fabric, so if it's not what you are looking for you can just move on to the next one.

They also have lace, buttons, ribbons, zippers... it's a sewer's dreamland! Lol!

But seriously.

We found what we needed and ended up getting a few other things my sister needed for the wedding too! It was a lot fun!

Pumpkin Carving

For Family Home Evening right before Halloween we decided to carve our pumpkins.

Sweet Girl helped Daddy clean the guts out... she was a little unsure of it, but she did it!

 She watched Daddy while he cut out the face.

 She was SO excited to see it glowing!

She thought that was pretty neat!

  Looking so cute with her little jack-o-lantern.

Afterwards mys sister pointed out that Sweet Girl's little jack-o-lantern has the same lone tooth that Sweet Girl does! I didn't even mean to do that, but it's a fun coincidence!

Pumpkin Patch

For some reason I thought I was all caught up on blogging, then I looked at what I last posted and realized that I am actually WAY behind! So here we go!

The wives group with my Sweet Husband's work had an outing to a pumpkin patch in the beginning of October. We decided to go and I'm really glad I did. It was really fun!

Sweet Girl LOVED it!

The pumpkin patch we went to was really cute, they were really cute with the kids and they had a lot of fun things to do before it was our turn to pick out pumpkins.

First we started with a big blob thing we could jump and play on.

Sweet Girl was a little unsure of it in the beginning, but eventually liked it.

 They also had a little petting zoo, after we saw the animals it was our turn to go to the actual patch!

They take you on a hayride to the patch.

 Then they set the kiddos free on the patch.

I let Sweet Girl pick out her pumpkin... pretty much. I made sure it was a small one so I would be able to carry a pumpkin for each of us and Sweet Girl.. lol!

 She LOVED her little pumpkin!

She especially loved that she could carry it herself. 

 They put all the pumpkins in a wagon for us, I think Sweet Girl was worried someone was going to steal her pumpkin, she kept a close eye on it!

Afterwards she was so excited to show Daddy her pumpkin and each time we would walk out in the front yard she would go over to her pumpkin, pick it up, take it to the grass, throw it playfully down, and laugh! It was so cute! She would also pick it up and carry it around for a while, with the biggest smile on her face!
