Here goes nothing

On Saturday we finally took the boat to a little reservoir to test her out.
We weren't entirely sure how it was going to go.
On the way down we decided that if we made it out of the no wake zone we were successful,
yes, our sites were high... lol.

This is our before picture.
We lathered up in sunscreen, put everything in the boat, and headed down to the water.
We got the boat off...
which turned out to be a little more work that we thought because the winch handle was broken
(we brought a vise grip for that),
but we didn't account for the 20 years of rust on the metal.
But my sweet husband is strong and got it off.

Here is my sweet husband and his sweet mom, a picture for posterity.. it is in the water!
They got it to turn on...

 But it wouldn't idle,
so my sweet husband and his sweet dad added some more gas to see if that would help
 It didn't,
so they tried to directly inject it
 Still wouldn't idle...
we did try to actually put it in gear at one point because the no wake zone was really small (about 20 feet)
and it went a little ways before dying.
After many many tries, we decided to head back home.
We did have some small successes:
1. It floats!
2. It moved about 3 feet on its own accord
3. We got it off and back on the trailer!

Then after a long hot day in the sun,
we enjoyed a nice meal at a local BBQ place, it was yummy.
And the sunset was gorgeous!
