Today we got to FINALLY meet, in person, some of our favorite people!
Do you remember when we were trying to adopt that little girl? Apparently, I never told the whole story. I'm sorry if some of you have been trying to figure it all out. Today is the day, I'll finish the story; better late than never, right?.
We were chosen by two birth moms, we had to decide which one to go with.
We fasted, we prayed, we discussed, we went back and forth.
We met both birth moms.
We chose Birth Mom #2.
We would talk on the phone and text.
She told us that she didn't know who the father was and she felt it was right to place the baby with us.
Then about two weeks before her due date, she fell off the face of the earth.
Wouldn't respond to text messages or calls.
Turns out "her phone was on the fritz."
We finally get a hold of her,
she tells us that a man who claimed he was the father was suing for custody .
We worried, we waited,
the day came, the baby was born.
We were SO excited!
Since there was baby daddy, and baby mama drama for that matter,
the baby went to foster care.
We were nervous.
Until we met the foster mom, via skype.
She was is SO good to us!
She would skype with us so we could meet the baby and see her growing,
she laughed with us,
she talked with us when we were frustrated that things were taking so long.
She prayed with us,
she was one of our biggest cheerleaders!
Finally, the day came for the paternity test results and we found out that he was the dad
and that he was going to parent her.
She cried with us.
BUT she also met the Dad, she found out he wasn't the terrible, horrible guy we were told about,
he was a good guy.
A great father,
and he wanted to do what was best for his child.
That helped SO much!
She keeps in touch with them and tells us how things are going.
When we found out we were pregnant with Sweet Girl,
we called and told her and she cried HAPPY tears with us!
Today we finally got to meet! And it was such a great day!
We sure love these adopted grandparents too!
It is amazing the blessings that can come from crazy life experiences!
