This weekend was GREAT! We got to spend the entire weekend together! I love that!
On Saturday we worked on our projects in the morning... my piano is ( ) close to being finished! (I'm hoping to finish it today!) After we worked on our projects his family came to visit! It was so fun to have them here! We had an apple centered day: we listened to the BYU game (they won! yay!) and made some apple pies and ate apples with yummy caramel dip that my sweet mother-in-law made, then we went apple picking (we didn't get any because we have a lot of apples thanks to my grandpa! Thanks Grandpa!), then we went to check out the railroad loop near our home, it's one of the seven wonders of the railroad world... lol I bet you didn't even know there were seven wonders of the railroad world... yeah I didn't either until we moved here. Well, once again we were a bit disappointed and didn't get to see a train on the loop... hopefully the third time will be the charm on that one. Then we went out to eat a good Mexican restaurant here. Then we had one of the apple pies to finish off the day. I forgot to take pictures, so sorry, no pictures of those experiences you'll just have to visualize them yourself.
Sunday we went to church, always a good time.
Then on Monday, he got the day off thanks to Columbus Day... sometimes it pays to be a federal employee! You get all sorts of random days off.. lol, but hey, we'll take them!
We started off the morning by going flying. This plane was his project that he finished Saturday morning, so he was itching to fly it. And it flew like a champ!
We decided to take a before and after picture because I'm usually bad luck and they crash when I watch... so here's the before:
I really liked finding non-burned plants mixed in with the burned ones. It made me think a lot about conference and how they talked a lot about being in the world but not of the world. To me these trees and plants that didn't get burned are like us, we need to not allow the fire of temptation overtake us. Maybe I'm crazy but I enjoyed thinking about it while we hiked.
Just a cool scenery shot.
The place we were looking for was a natural pool with "water slides" the granite works really well as a water slide, or so we've heard. I think we ended up going a little late in the season because I'm assuming that the natural pools are from run off and I'm guessing they've dried up by now because we found a lot of places that weren't burned close to the stream that would make sense that it was under the water, but it was still fun and really pretty. We weren't exactly sure where they were supposed to be so we'd get off the trail and go check out the stream every now and then, this picture was one of those times. Isn't it so pretty?
We finally just decided to play in what we think was supposed to be the natural pool, I love little waterfalls, I always have so there are a couple of pictures of them.
This was the little pool that we played in.

Another view of the pool
And another
Our first attempt at getting a picture with both of us in it, it was pretty difficult because I had to run and jump over granite rocks to get to the water.
Our "success" I would have liked it if I was a little close to my dear husband, but you take what you can get I guess... lol.
Oh, we found this shed or something that got totally obliterated by the fire! If you look closely you can see the four corners of the shed.
It was a really fun hike. We had a great time just talking and being together! We talked a lot about the future and what it might hold for us, it's still all pretty much in the air, but I know everything will work out as it should! Heavenly Father knows each one of us and knows what's best for us, of this I am sure!
