So I'm not sure how much you can see in this picture since it was taken a few hours after it happened, but if you can't I'll just tell you what happened. So this last weekend we were at my very smart handsome husband's parents' house because my very smart husband was presenting a paper at a conference. While he did that I got to play all weekend (more on that later).
This particular photo was taken while at my brother-in-law's (BIL) volleyball tournament. Here's what happened:
So my BIL had just finished his first match, they had won. The next team was warming up for their game. I had just taken off my glasses (thank goodness!), I put them in my bag, and I turned around to talk to my MIL and another player's parent. When all of a sudden a rogue volleyball slammed into the side of my head! The boys were practicing spiking, right into the stands. Whoever designed that gym should not design gyms... who makes the ends of the volleyball courts face the bleachers! Seriously! So I jump up and run over to the side because I don't want to get hit again and my eye is watering so bad and seriously I think my brain was shook lose!
It was the weirdest thing though because it felt like it was all in slow motion even though I didn't even see if coming! I swear my head shook before the ball even hit it (I'm sure that's not what happened that's just what it felt like). It was weird. It didn't actually hurt that badly. We got some ice and I iced it for a while. Then we went and got me some pain killers because I was starting to get a headache. The headache and tired eyes was really all that happened.
But it just reaffirms why I DON'T play volleyball.. I'm ALWAYS the one that gets hit in the head! Apparently, when I'm not playing too... lol.
Ouch!!! Your poor head. Why would the court face the bleachers?! I totally could see myself getting hit too. It reminds me of YW volleyball. LOL
